Who we are
Bridge2AI-Voice Scholars are diverse and consist of students and researchers with backgrounds in medicine and computer science who have completed one of the Bridge2AI-Voice educational programs. Our scholars are uniquely equipped to understand voice AI applications in healthcare with specialized expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biomedicine. Scholars trained through our program possess a deep understanding of both the technical and ethical dimensions of voice AI, making them invaluable assets to the healthcare industry. Their advanced skills in utilizing audio data for AI-driven insights position them as leaders in developing innovative, ethically sound solutions to enhance patient care and drive forward the future of biomedical research.
Bridge2AI Voice is part of the Bridge2AI Program funded by the NIH Common Fund. The Bridge2AI-Voice Consortium aims to integrate the use of voice as biomarker of health in clinical care by generating a substantial multi-institutional, ethically sourced, and diverse voice database linked to multimodal health biomarkers to fuel voice AI research and build predictive models to assist in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of a broad range of diseases. Data collection will be made possible by software through a smartphone application linked to electronic health records (EHR) and other health biomarkers such as radiomics, and genomics, and supported by federated learning technology to protect data privacy.
Our work is founded upon three pillars including Ethics, People, and Data. Skills and workforce development through education and training is part of our mission to educate future scientists, researchers, and developers how to use our dataset to maximize impact.
